Couples Therapy in Munich: A Practical Guide
A guide to finding couples therapy in Munich, from Schwabing to Bogenhausen.
What to know in Munich
Statutory health insurance (gesetzliche Krankenkassen) generally does not cover couples therapy, so couples usually pay themselves. Ask your Kasse if one of you has a separate diagnosis. "Paartherapeut" is not a protected title in Germany. The protected title is Psychotherapeut (licensed, approbiert); couples therapists also come with other backgrounds, so ask what a therapist is licensed as. Fees of 100 € to 180 € per session are quoted for Germany as a whole (Trustlocal, April 2026).
Listed fee: 100 €–180 € per session (Germany-wide, Trustlocal 2026)
