Couples Therapy in Calgary: A Practical Guide
A guide to finding couples therapy in Calgary, from Beltline to Kensington: who offers it, what it costs, what to ask.
What to know in Calgary
In Alberta, psychologists and social workers are regulated by colleges (the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Alberta College of Social Workers). Counsellors have no college of their own, so ask what a counsellor is registered with. The Psychologists' Association of Alberta recommends $235 for a couple or family session (fee schedule effective 1 January 2025). Whether AHCIP or extended benefits cover relationship counselling varies, so check with your plan.
Listed fee: $235 CAD (recommended fee, Psychologists' Association of Alberta)
